Lower Right Back Pain
5 Free Tips To Reduce Your
Back Pain Now
Do you spend long sleepless nights watching infomercials and surfing Face Book?
I know your frustration first hand and have created this site to help you get back to a normal state of living.
Stop Your Lower Right Back Pain Now!
The saying goes “misery loves company”, well I’m sure you would agree with me that sciatica and lower back pain is the type of company that pulls up out front of your house in a beat up, rusted out Pinto with every intention of eating you out of house and home, drinking all your beer and moving in permanently.
Before we get to fixing the problem we have to define it. We can’t be satisfied with just saying that we have lower right back pain because the nature of the area that has pain, your spine, is very complex. Sources of the back pain can be as simple as a strained muscle due to fatigue or as complex as a pinched nerve from a slipped disc.
It is very important that, from not only a physical stand point, but also from a psychological point of view that there be a concrete diagnosis of the source of your back pain. You can’t fix the pain but you can fix the cause ,or source, of your sore back.
Specific medical issues may also be the cause of your back pain such as kidney stones or even tumors. In most cases lower right back pain can be attributed to muscle imbalances, skeletal degeneration or injury and are referred to as non specific low back pain.
- Keep moving, keep moving, keep moving! Although it may seem that bed will aid in
your recovery, in reality, too much rest actually hinders your lower back. Sitting adds pressure to your lower spine while too much bed rest can lead to atrophy (weakness). My experience has taught me that even if it was a slow, lumbering walk I had to stay in motion. “A body in motion stays in motion.”
- Ice vs Heat: Using ice packs and heating pads will help you in two ways. The ice will help numb the pain and provide temporary relief while heat will promote blood flow and muscle rejuvenation. Personally I found that ice worked better most of the time but hot showers could be life savers at certain times.
- Correct your posture: I know that this seems like common sense but the one position that we don’t think of is crossing our legs while sitting. The added pressure from our hips being slightly twisted while in this position is a real problem. I found this to be an extremely hard habit to break but I truly believe that it was a key in recovery.
Lower right back pain that is more severe may require a regimen that includes the tips from above but with some added steps.
- Anti-Inflammatory Medications: Ibuprofen and NSA-IDs available over the counter can offer enough relief from pain to enable you to keep moving. That’s right, keep moving.
- Prescription drugs: These do not have to be muscle relaxers and other narcotics. There are many anti-inflammatory prescriptions that can provide lasting relief without being habit forming. My experience has been that reducing the inflammation and not masking the pain has been very helpful in recovery. Narcotics will make the pain stop but they do not treat the source of the pain. Please be cautious.
- Exercise: Specific exercises that help loosen the muscles and strengthen the core can be very beneficial
in lower right back therapy. Sources of exercise should be light in nature and include Yoga, swimming, walking and Pilate’s. This one point has been the catalyst to recovery. Find something to do and do that everyday.

It’s really a nice post. Thanks for the tips. I’m totally agree with the posture. Actually I do have a very bad posture while sitting on my office and I am sure because of that only the problem of my back pain started. Sometimes, the pain heal automatically but some pain last for a longer days. I really hate to take medication so I always do the ice and heat therapy to relieve the pain. Moreover, these days I’m trying my best to change my posture on sitting. Anyways once again the article is really great.
